HUTAMA KARYA OPTIMIZE SMART WATER PROGRAM TO SOLVE PROBLEMS OF CLEAN WATER IN CENTRAL LAMPUNG

LAMPUNG– PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) collaborated with PT Indra Karya (Persero) (Indra Karya) in a program to provide clean water facilities and infrastructureSmart Water in Central Lampung Regency, Gunung Sugih District, North Buyut Village.

The results of this program were officially handed over directly by the Head of the TJSL Hutama Karya Agus Kosasih Unit together with the Operations and Innovation Manager Indra Karya Fauzil Asghariansyah to the Head of North Buyut Village Mr. Suradi on Saturday (20/3).

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said that the smart water program in North Buyut Village was Hutama Karya's initial idea to overcome drought and difficulties in accessing clean water which often occur during the dry season.

“Development of clean water supply facilities (smart water) has been carried out since December 2022 and will be completed in February 2023. The total distribution of TJSL funds in the construction of this facility is Rp. 452.2 million, "explained Tjahjo

Tjahjo further said that North Buyut Village, Gunung Sugih District was chosen as the location for implementing the smart water program because it is directly adjacent to one of Hutama Karya's operating toll roads, namely the Bakauheni -Terbanggi Besar toll road. Smart water is expected to be able to meet the needs of clean water suitable for consumption for the residents of North Buyut Village who often experience difficulties in obtaining access to clean water when the dry season arrives.

"This smart water uses state-owned enterprise technology by utilizing water sources in North Buyut Village, directly integrated with the smart card that is used to meet the needs of clean water suitable for consumption for 3,851 people and 996 heads of families around North Buyut Village in a fair and equitable manner with the quota given per year. 60-80 liters per person per day," added Tjahjo.

After this handover, Indra Karya will provide assistance for 3 (three) months, and then to be managed and developed independently by the Buyut Utara Village Government, as well as monitoring and evaluating the quality of the facilities built by Hutama Karya.

"In the future, besides being able to improve the quality of life of the community by adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle, this program will also empower the community to be able to manage and optimize the potential of Natural Resources (SDA) through water as a concrete manifestation of the Spirit of Connecting Goodness brought by Hutama Karya," concluded Tjahjo Purnomo EVP Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya.

On the same occasion, Mr. Wagiyo as the Head of the Gunung Sugih Sub-District, Central Lampung Regency expressed his great appreciation for the concern and assistance of the Smart Water program that was carried out.

"In the future we will independently manage and care for the smart water that has been mandated," said Wagiyo, Head of Gunung Sugih Sub-District.

Smart Water is one of the implementations of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Hutama Karya Cares Social program which was launched in order to supportSustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 6 regarding clean water and proper sanitation. Besides that,Smart Water as well as encouraging the realization of clean and healthy living behavior through clean water which can significantly improve the quality of life of the community.
