BECOME AN AGRICULTURE ICON IN YOGYAKARTA, JOKOWI OFFICIALLY OFFICIALLY OFFICIALLY HUTAMA KARYA'S KRETEK II BRIDGE TODAY

BANTUL- PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) has completed the construction of one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), namely the Kretek II Bridge which is part of the Southern Cross Road (JJLS) in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) since December 2022 and began to be opened for use by the public last February 2023.

Inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Joko Widodo, today, Friday (02/06), this 600 meter long bridge connects the Samas Kretek road with Poncosari-Greges.

In his remarks, Jokowi said that the presence of this bridge could overcome various problems and increase the speed of the regional economy, and equitable development. Having four lanes at a cost of 364 billion, this bridge is part of the southern route where in Bantul Province it has been 100% completed, in West Java province it has been 100%, and in Central Java Province it has been almost 100%.

"We hope that the speed of the logistics route for the mobility of people and mobility of goods will run smoothly because we already have a southern route. We also hope that the competitiveness of products in southern Java can enter the market with much better competitiveness," said Jokowi.

The inauguration was also accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, the Governor of DIY Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, the Regent of Bantul H. Abdul Halim Muslih and the Main Director of Hutama Karya Budi Harto and the Main Director of Wijaya Karya Agung Budi Waskito.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Hutama Karya Corporate Secretary Tjahjo Purnomo said that the presence of this bridge facilitates access between the Tirto Argo and Parangtritis areas which will save travel time from the previous 20 minutes to only 6 minutes, as well as the development of the Yogyakarta South Coast area.

"With this easier access, it is hoped that it can improve the community's economy and equalize the economy of the surrounding area, bring MSMEs closer to market share, and can support the development of tourist destinations in southern Java," added Tjahjo.

Furthermore, Tjahjo also added that in accelerating its construction, Hutama Karya applied several work methods and technologies adapted to the conditions of the soil and area there, including anti-earthquake technology using lead core rubber bearing technology (Lead Rubber Bearing) which has an important role in increasing the resilience of structures in the face of earthquake risks. In addition, soil improvement techniques using the soil replacement method are also applied to improve soil conditions and carrying capacity, as well as methodsStructural Health Monitoring System (SHMS) to detect damage to the bridge by using instrumentation to detect the actions on the structure.

The Kretek Bridge was built by Hutama Karya and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk., through JO Wika-Hutama, it was designed to include the philosophy of Among Tani Dagang Layar which is embodied in a plow/plow-shaped monument ornament, showing the agrarian culture of the Yogyakarta people with the philosophy "Main Life Practices" or "During our life we ​​do good deeds”, as well as the egret ornaments on the bridge railings, inspired by birds that have contributed to helping farmers eradicate pests in the rice fields. Meanwhile, the shape of the rice plant on the Public Street Lighting pole (PJU) with the philosophy of getting denser and more crouching and as an illustration of the main agricultural crops.
