BUILDING A SMARTER GENERATION AND CLEANER ENVIRONMENT: HUTAMA KARYA PROVIDES HUNDREDS OF EDUCATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL F

JAKARTA – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) has strengthened its commitment to education and environmental sustainability through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. From January to September 2025, the company distributed hundreds of educational and environmental support packages to 10 early childhood education institutions (PAUD) and youth organizations (Karang Taruna) across Jakarta and Bekasi. The assistance was handed over by Agus Kosasih, Head of TJSL at Hutama Karya.
Executive Vice President & Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Adjib Al Hakim, emphasized the company’s focus on tangible impact. “Early education is the foundation of human capital development, while a clean environment supports public health. We design our assistance to match real needs and encourage collaboration,” he said.
In the education sector, support was delivered to institutions including PAUD Al Muchtar in Bekasi, PAUD Bintang Pondok Bambu, PAUD Harapan Bunda in Duren Sawit, Kasih Ibu RW.09, Ponpes Az-Ziyadah in Duren Sawit, Yayasan TPQ Al Qudsi in Kalibata, PAUD Mutiara Ungu and PAUD Sabilina in Cipayung, PAUD Seruni in Pondok Bambu, and Yayasan Al Amanah in Duren Sawit. The packages included computers, projectors, educational play tools, desks, chairs, printers, uniforms, and traditional clothing—aimed at supporting teaching, learning, and early childhood development.
“Children are now more focused and enthusiastic every day. The projector and learning tools make the classroom experience more engaging,” said Suparti, Principal of PAUD Mutiara Ungu.
On the environmental front, through its HK Peduli Lingkungan (HK Cares for the Environment) program, the company provided two motorized waste collection carts with 700-kg capacity, a plastic shredder machine, manual carts, and waste-sorting bins to Karang Taruna Kemayoran. The facilities are expected to improve waste management for over 200,000 residents in the district while empowering youth in community-based waste initiatives.
Gunawan, Chairman of Karang Taruna Kemayoran, highlighted the benefits: “The motor carts and shredder have made operations more efficient. In densely populated areas, waste collection is now more frequent,” he said.
Adjib underscored the importance of sustaining the program through cross-sector collaboration. “Our goal is to improve children’s learning outcomes and create healthier environments. Strong foundations build future generations, while environmental awareness ensures sustainability,” he added.
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). Hutama Karya is confident that its contribution will help shape a generation that is both knowledgeable and environmentally responsible, paving the way for a better Indonesia.
