HUTAMA KARYA OPENS TEMPINO–SIMPANG NESS TOLL ROAD WITH FREE ACCESS STARTING SEPTEMBER 14, 2025
JAMBI – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) will begin operating the Betung – Tempino – Jambi (Betejam) Toll Road, Section 3, Tempino – Simpang Ness segment (18.49 km) starting Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 07:00 WIB. The operation follows the issuance of the Minister of Public Works Decree (No. 813/KPTS/M/2025) on the operation of the Betung – Tempino – Jambi Toll Road Section 3, Tempino – Simpang Ness segment.
Adjib Al Hakim, Executive Vice President Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, explained that the segment had previously undergone a Feasibility Test (Uji Laik Fungsi/ULF) from August 6–8, 2025, meeting all technical and administrative requirements. The project was awarded a five-star Operation and Feasibility Certificate (SLFO) by the Ministry of Public Works on August 22, 2025.
“This result confirms full readiness to serve toll users, with this segment extending Section 3 from Bayung Lencir to Tempino, which has been operating with free access since late last year,” Adjib said.
The new segment is equipped with one toll gate, six booths (three entry, three exit, including two reversible), 58 on-duty personnel, and six standby service vehicles. The Tempino – Simpang Ness segment significantly shortens travel time—for example, the Bayung Lencir–Simpang Ness trip now takes around 45 minutes compared to nearly three hours previously, while travel from Jambi to Betung is reduced from more than four hours to just about two.
“During the socialization period, no toll fees will be charged. This allows us to educate road users on toll regulations and promote the use of electronic payment cards through multiple communication channels, including social media, conventional media, outdoor media, and radio,” Adjib added.
With the opening of this new section, Hutama Karya urges all motorists to comply with toll road regulations, maintain a maximum speed of 100 km/h, and rest at the nearest facility if feeling tired or drowsy. Users are also encouraged to report complaints or suspicious activities on the toll road by contacting the Betung – Tempino – Jambi Toll Road Call Center at +62 821-8888-7710.
