TEMPINO-NESS TOLL ROAD COMPLETION: HUTAMA KARYA PARTNERS WITH MEDIA JAMBI TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC INFORMATION DISSEMINATION

JAMBI – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) is reinforcing its commitment to transparency, information disclosure, and good corporate governance (GCG) through a series of engagements with local media in its operational areas. The program began with a media visit to Jambi Ekspres (September 17), where the team was welcomed by CEO Sarkawi, Company Leader Setya Novanto, Editor-in-Chief Pirma Satria, along with other senior editors and reporters.

The agenda continued with a site visit to the newly completed toll segment, including an inspection of the Pijoan Toll Gate and Rest Area at Km 42+100, followed by a media gathering that brought together 20 local outlets with Hutama Karya’s management (September 18). The discussion focused on providing comprehensive updates regarding the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) network in Jambi. Attendees included Ahmadi, Project Director for the Betung–Tempino–Jambi Section 4; Hanung Hanindito, Branch Manager for Section 3; and Ahmad Maulana, Corporate Communications Analyst. The activities coincided with the completion and non-tariff operation of the Betung–Tempino–Jambi Section 3, Tempino–Simpang Ness segment (18.49 km).

Adjib Al Hakim, Executive Vice President Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, highlighted the crucial role of the media in ensuring corporate transparency. “The completion of the Tempino–Ness segment will significantly boost connectivity across Sumatra, and media collaboration is vital in communicating its benefits. We want the public to clearly understand how this toll road will save travel time and stimulate regional economic growth,” he said.

Hutama Karya also underscored the importance of working hand in hand with both local and national media to deliver accurate and balanced information. “This synergy with the media is a key foundation for maintaining transparency and protecting the company’s reputation,” Adjib added.

Previously, the Tempino–Simpang Ness segment of the Betung–Tempino–Jambi Toll Road received a five-star Operational and Functionality Certificate (SLFO) from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (August 22) and was officially designated for non-tariff operation under Ministerial Decree No. 813/KPTS/M/2025 (September 10). The new toll road cuts travel time between Jambi and Betung from over four hours to approximately two, while easing congestion on the Trans-Sumatra National Road, a vital logistics corridor.

“We are confident this collaboration will ensure that the benefits of strategic national infrastructure projects are tangibly felt by the public. Hutama Karya remains committed to sustainable development and to ensuring every toll road we deliver strengthens connectivity and drives regional economic growth,” Adjib concluded.

To date, Hutama Karya has developed approximately 1,235 km of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road, spanning both operational and under-construction sections. Operational segments include: Bakauheni–Terbanggi Besar (140 km), Terbanggi Besar–Pematang Panggang–Kayu Agung (189 km), Palembang–Indralaya (22 km), Indralaya–Prabumulih (64 km), Betung–Jambi Section 3 (Bayung Lencir–Tempino, 33.6 km), Bengkulu–Taba Penanjung (16.7 km), Pekanbaru–Dumai (132 km), Medan–Binjai (17 km), Binjai–Pangkalan Brandan (58 km), Pekanbaru–XIII Koto Kampar (55.4 km), Padang–Sicincin (35.4 km), Indrapura–Kisaran (48 km), Kuala Tanjung–Tebing Tinggi–Sinaksak (91 km), and Sigli–Banda Aceh Section 2–6 (49 km).
